The M3 has always been one of the most loved German performance sedans, loved all over the world but also here in SA

I while back BMW SA introduced the Competition Package to both the M3 and M4 to add a bit of spice to the mix.

The pack includes an upgrade to the M Division’s twin-turbo straight six, with power increasing from 317kW to 331kW while maximum torque remains at 550Nm.
I sampled the M3, and let me tell you it is something really special, the additional 14kW does not seem much of an upgrade, but as a whole the package makes quite a bit of a difference.

The car looks different, feels and corners better than before (not that there was any problem with cornering before, BMW’s are renowned for their precision handling).
The package also includes a bit of weight reduction in the form of light weight M-Sport seats.

But it does not stop there. The package also includes a modified version of BMW’s Adaptive M Suspension, including new springs, dampers and roll bars updated stability control and an upgraded M differential.

But wait……there is more….you also get exclusive 20-inch alloys, black chrome tail pipes and and you can Shadow Line exterior trim.
