Ford Fusion 2.0 TDCi Titanium Auto (6-speed):
132kw – 400nm

I drove this variant of the Fusion on Saturday and was surprised with the built quality and all round package, the SYNC2 with Bluetooth and voice control is a “must have” in any Ford and is a standard feature throughout the Fusion range. When compared to the Germans in the same price bracket the Fusion is fully loaded.

Interior:
The interior quality is up there with the Germans and gives you that premium luxury feel.
The cabin is spacious and it is very easy to navigate all the controls. The reverse camera and parking sensors also is a great help to park this big machine.

Practicality:
The Fusion has an enormous boot and if you really want to you could fit a Ford Figo in there. The rear seats folds down easy should you want to transport some bigger items.

Ride quality:
The ride and handling is great for a big car and I also did not feel much body roll.

Models:
1.5 & 2.0 EcoBoost Auto FWD 6 speed auto with SelecShift
2.0 EcoBoost and 2.0 TDCi FWD 6 speed auto with SelecShift and PowerShift with SelectShift

Fuel consumption:
I managed to get a combined consumption figure of 7.9l/100km which is excellent for a big family car.

Verdict:
My pick of the rage would defiantly be the TDCi Titaunum. I would prefer the Fusion above the New Mazda 6 I drove last week, but only because the power delivery and quality feel is a bit better.

The Fusion replaces the old Ford Mondeo and is up against some stiff competition from the Mazda 6 and Honda Accord.

My pick overall in this segment would still be the Honda Accord.
